You Asked For It – How do I share my testimony if I have always believed?

“If I believe in Jesus, but I can’t remember what my life was like before Christ, how do I share my testimony? Am I even a believer?”
This is a great question, and honestly it’s one I asked myself for a long time. I grew up in a Christian home; my entire family went to church, my parents were pastors, and even went to Christian school until 7th grade. I honestly didn’t know anyone who wasn’t a Christian. I also, have always been a ‘rule follower’ and never wanted to do anything wrong. I often struggled trying to understand what my testimony was and what Jesus saved me from. After praying about this and asking The Lord what my testimony is He told me so simply, that is my testimony. Every testimony and every story is important. Your story is important! It doesn’t have to be that you were saved from addiction or being a thief to be worthy of salvation.

Romans 3:23 it says “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”

The good news is that The Lord knows that everyone has sinned and because of that He sent Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:8 says “But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners”.

We are saved by grace, we cannot earn salvation from good behavior or stopping bad behavior.

Eph 2: 8-9, “ God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.”

When we believe and declare we are saved.

Romans 10:9-10 “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”
